The Shalom of God

My peace is the legacy I leave to you. I don’t give gifts like those to this world. Do not let your heart be troubled or fearful. John 14:27 Voice

What an appropriate verse for the day we live in. It seems every day, our peace is disturbed as we watch endless acts of violence on the news and even social media.

Unlike the English word, peace, the Hebrew word, shalom, does not just mean peace of mind, but also wholeness for your entire being — spirit, soul and body. It means having a sense of completeness and soundness. In other words, shalom encompasses your prosperity, health and total well-being.

When God steps into the middle of your problems, you allow His Shalom to come and completely saturate every area in your life that has anything missing or broken. Leave it to God to add so much more. He doesn’t just give us a nice feeling of euphoria. He completes us.

I once heard the definition of shalom as nothing missing or broken. Wow, I don’t know about you, but I needed that word today. He doesn’t just heal part way, He doesn’t provide just enough, if we speak His peace over our situations, we can expect WHOLENESS, COMPLETENESS, NOTHING MISSING OR BROKEN.

Glory, glory, glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace goodwill toward men! Lets remind our bodies of that. Lets remind our finances of that. Lest we forget whose we are, let’s rest in the complete shaloam of God today.

Until Next Time,

Sandy G

God Will Make A Way

I’m not sure if this is for one person specifically or many people around the globe, but I felt an urgency in my spirit this morning to remind you, however your situation looks right now, God will make a way.

There’s a story that comes to my mind of a group of people making a mass exodus from Egypt, who came upon an impassable body of water. They panicked when they realized the entire Egyptian army was pursuing them. They couldn’t move.

Fear does horrible things to us, doesn’t it. It holds us in a prison and keeps us from moving forward. We feel like there is no where to go and no one can fix it. Please know this, God will make a way!

And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:13

So right where you are, throw your hands up in surrender, give it to God and announce, “I trust You, oh God! I know You will make a way!” Now hold onto your peace. Don’t let it go, don’t talk about it, don’t give it another thought.

Trusting God will make a way, keeps you looking at the Way Maker, not the obstacle or impossible odds you’re facing. Hebrews 10:35 tells us; Do not throw away your trust, for your reward will be great.

Father, I ask that Your Holy Spirit will bring comfort, wisdom and strength. Not to the situation, but to the person facing it. May they stand still and know that You are God and that nothing is impossible for them, because You are their God. I speak peace over them, that as they sit in Your presence, perhaps reading this message, Your incomprehensible peace will permeate them from head to foot. May they know You in every sense of the word in this moment. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G

Happy Waiting

Are you ready? Ready for the unexpected, supernatural, awesome direction of the Lord today? Will you allow Him to be in total control? Are you listening for His voice to direct you?

I was reading in Romans 8:15-17 this morning. It’s always been a favorite passage, but I just loved how it’s written in the Message Bible:

“This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!”

God has purpose for you and he has to break dread off you to do it. Did you hear that? Stop going through life afraid. Stop going through the motions of daily routine. Mix it with some Word and start out with some worship, be brave and make up your own song to the Lord.

That’s right, no one needs to hear it but you and God. The first time I did this, I was in the car on a trip and I began to sing a new song to the Lord. I began to laugh, but it wasn’t an embarrassed laugh, it was a joyful, playful laugh with my Father.

God wants you to take some risk in life and not play it safe all the time. The only thing safe about serving the Lord is knowing we will dwell in the safety of His arms. It doesn’t mean we won’t do some free falling, but as the mother eagle swoops down and saves the eaglet until he can fly on his own, so our Father will swoop down to rescue us until we get our faith muscle built up and learn to trust in him completely.

How can you hear his direction if you don’t take the time to turn off the noises and sit with him. Turn off your phone, your ipad, your laptop, even your music and sit with your bible, pen and paper in the presence of the best friend you’ll ever have. If you set apart time for Him each and everyday, you’ll find yourself on the ride of your life.

Romans 8:26-28, “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”

Happy waiting!

Big Big God

Oh, magnify (to increase the apparent size of, as a lens does) the Lord with me, and let us exalt (to raise in rank, honor, power, character, quality, etc.; elevate) His name together. Psalm 34:3 & dictionary.com

That is to say; Oh One who created all of the universe and named each galaxy and planet. The One who designed the earth, the smallest planet, and placed me in it, yet knows my name, numbers my hairs and hears my voice when I speak.

There is no one higher then You! None that compares to You. You are the King of kings, the Lord of lords and High priest of our confession. When You speak, it happens. Our Provider, Protector, Strong tower, Instructor, Wisdom, Peace giver, Healer and so much more.

The only reason we, Your people, don’t believe You can and will, is because we stare too hard & long at the exhausting influence of this earth, and trust more in the natural realm. But You oh God, You cannot be compared with any of that. You’re bigger, mightier and well able to keep what You’ve created.

Our job is to be Your ambassadors in the earth, telling all of Your greatness and displaying the power of Your might by laying hands on the sick, casting out demons and raising the dead.

Forgive us for exalting the things You created over You, our Creator. Everything is subject to us, for You gave us power over all the power of the enemy so that nothing shall by any means harm us. For too long we’ve blamed You for things You gave us authority to call into existence.

We know that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by Your Word. Forgive us for listening to other things more then we listen to You. Have mercy on us and stir up the gift in us, the gift of the Holy Spirit You gave. Activate Your power in each of us that we may do what You called us to do in the earth. It’s in Jesus’ name, by the blood He shed and the Holy Spirit He left us, Amen.

Colors On The Canvas

Why would you focus on the flaw in someone else’s life and yet fail to notice the glaring flaws of your own? How could you say to your friend, ‘Let me show you where you’re wrong,’ when you’re guilty of even more? You’re being hypercritical and a hypocrite! First acknowledge your own ‘blind spots’ and deal with them, and then you’ll be capable of dealing with the ‘blind spot’ of your friend. Matthew 7:3-5 TPT

Guilty! It’s always way easier to see the flaws in others and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one. If only everyone were as perfect as I am! Now THAT was funny!

When I find myself focusing on someone’s flaws, it seems I hear the Holy Spirit bringing me back to these verses. It’s a tap on the shoulder, a whisper in my ear and sometimes, a thump on the gourd, just to remind me to stop doing that.

Please hear me on this, just because someone isn’t like you, doesn’t mean they’re flawed, broken or unfit to be used. Quite the opposite! Every great man or woman in the Bible that God used were all a bit broken. But He wouldn’t have it any other way. People who think they are perfect don’t need a perfect God.

Remember when your mom used to say, “Don’t stare, it’s not polite!” That was some good advise to follow. Just because someone looks different, talks different or seems a bit off, doesn’t give you the right to accentuate that by staring.

Each and everyone of us were created in the image and likeness of God. He doesn’t make mistakes. He knows the plans He has for each one and we all fit perfectly into the masterpiece He’s painting. All those flaws–colors on the canvas. He’s working on something so let Him work.

What if that one person that bugs you so much ends up being the one who pays off your debt. Bet you’ll look at them differently then! What if their faith heals your child, or ends up rescuing that loved one you’ve been praying so hard for.

If I had yielded my focus back then, I would have missed out on the best girlfriend God placed in my life. I can tell you with certainty, I would have left my husband long ago if I allowed myself to let the flaws cloud my vision. Instead, I chose to see them as God does and they’ve both changed my life forever.

I invite you to do the same. Each time you see someone and are tempted to ‘change’ them, ask God what you’re missing? Accept them, flaws and all. Love them, flaws and all. Once you begin to see them as He does, the canvas He’s painting will be seen and enjoyed. Don’t waste your time trying to create perfect people. He who started the work will be faithful to complete it just as He’d planned all along.

Until Tomorrow,

He Always Answers

May everyone who knows your mercy keep putting their trust in you, for they can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you. Psalm 9:10 TPT

I don’t know about you, but I have indeed known God’s great mercy. The many times I deserved much worse, but God scooped down and rescued me. That’s why I continually place my trust in the Lord. I can count on Him to take care of my children, my husband and my finances.

I don’t just trust in Him when I’m at the end of myself, I trust Him with myself. I don’t trust Him because I have no other choice, I trust Him because He’s my first and only choice. Every decision I make, I first ask Him. He’s my covenant keeping God and when I run to Him, He’s always there.

Because of that, He never neglects me or turns away from me. When I call His name, He answers me and than He shows me things I didn’t know before. You may have never heard my name or know who I am, but God does. I daily snuggle up to Him, expressing my love and adoration.

He’s not my 2nd choice or even my 3rd choice, He’s always my first choice. I run to Him when I’m feeling threatened by unseen foes. When unknown forces attack my family or finances, I remember that when I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, I abide under His shadow and no foe can harm me.

And because I trust in Him, this is what He whispered to my heart:

“You see Me through my Word and refuse to believe the lies of the enemy. I saw the accuser whisper lies in your ears about Me, saying that I do for others but not for you. I watched as you responded with my Word, ‘God is no respecter of persons.’ You know that I’m in you not merely with you & that because of that knowledge, you won’t give up. You trust in Me, therefore you will not be ashamed and your enemy won’t triumph over you.”

Thank You Lord! Even when I don’t feel it or see it when I want to, I know You’re always working on my behalf and I love You.

Until Next Time,

Sandy G

Not Today Devil! Not Today!

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Have you ever noticed that when fear comes, it brings friends? Just as love is a choice we make everyday, so is fear. We can choose to be fearful of every thing that could happen or we can focus on God and His ability to protect us and keep us in all our ways.

About 7 years ago, our youngest daughter was slipping into a diabetic coma. Instead of calling 911, in my spirit I heard the Lord say, “Get her up and take her for a walk.” I began to take my God given authority and come against the plans of the enemy to take her out.

As we walked, I called her blood sugar down and all levels normal. What happened? All her levels returned to normal. Today, she’s lost over 100 pounds and is no longer tormented by diabetes. Fear has lost it’s power over her life!

My friends, there is power in our words! Jesus gave us all power over all the power of the enemy and said, “Nothing shall by any means harm you!” He gave us all authority over sickness and disease. He rebuked the devil, cast out demons. Everything He spoke came to pass, so why not us?

Have faith in God! I don’t care who you are or what your religious back ground is, it’s time to take back what is yours and walk in it every day! Stop allowing the devil to steal your children, your home, your finances or your healing! Begin telling your enemy, “Not today, devil! Not today!”

Just as Jesus did, quote the scriptures to your enemy! If your enemy is debt or lack, tell him, “My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory!” If your enemy is fear, tell him, “God hasn’t given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind!” If your enemy is sickness, tell him, “He sent His Word and healed me and delivered me from all diseases.”

Now, determine to walk in love. Focus on the love and power Jesus placed in your hands and use it. Don’t just put it on a shelf and retrieve it when you’re desperate. Use it always! The blood of Jesus will never lose it’s power.

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G

Who Do You Trust?

Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God! I can guarantee this truth: This is what will be done for someone who doesn’t doubt but believes what he says will happen: He can say to this mountain, ‘Be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it will be done for him. That’s why I tell you to have faith that you have already received whatever you pray for, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:22-24 GW

I asked the Lord a simple question, “What makes my words so effective in the Spirit realm? I know my words contain power and I don’t want to misuse them.”

He took me to these verses in Mark and the focus He showed me was in the very first part, “Have faith in God!” He also ends it the same way, “have faith” that I’ve already received it when I say it. I have a tendency not to believe it until I see it because I’ve been told, ‘seeing is believing’ but God says the opposite. Did you catch that?

Who am I to have faith in? God. It’s never about my ability, it’s about His. Wait, so He’s asking me to trust Him completely even when I don’t see it for years? That would be correct! I must be confident of who I place my trust in. In other words, I’m not going to trust someone I don’t know. And why should it matter to me when something happens, I’m merely a servant the Lord sent to do His bidding in the earth, the rest is all on Him.

It’s not ‘positive speaking’ I’m talking about here. This is about spending time listening and speaking what He tells me to speak. If I am to be His voice in the earth then I must speak His Word to the earth. Did you catch that? The Word spoken over the earth in my closet has power. I don’t have to be heard by anyone but God.

Faith doesn’t come any other way but hearing (Romans 10:17). Let me say it this way, faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing, but if I never open my mouth to speak it, I will never see what I say come to pass. Faith without works is dead (James 2:20), faith without proclaiming can’t activate the end result.

What else do the angels have to do but listen for the Word of the Lord. It only takes a little yeast to cause the bread to rise and it only takes vision of who God is to speak with authority and expectation. Nothing’s happened yet? Jesus walked away from the fig tree fully knowing that God had heard Him. When He returned, it was done. That’s what faith in God looks like.

No more selfish prayers! No more ‘I want, I want, I want!’ He said to believe I receive when I pray and I’ll have it. It’s time to stop trying to figure God out, he’s God! No matter how well I know Him, I’ll never know all of Him until He reveals Himself to me. I just seek Him, thats all He asks of me, ‘Seek me and you’ll find me if you seek me with all your heart.’

Speak to me Lord. May the Word that is in me be the thing that resounds in the earth. May it bring life to all who hear it and health to all their flesh. It’s in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G

Afflictions Have an End

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19

Let me clear something up right now, just because we’re Christians doesn’t mean we live on a glory cloud in a protective bubble. No, this verse clearly states that we will have MANY afflictions.

Dictionary.com defines the word, afflictions as; mishap, trouble, tribulation, calamity, catastrophe, disaster, adversity, misfortune, trial. May refer to an event or circumstance that is hard to bear. Isn’t that interesting? I don’t know about you, but I can relate to that!

I could spend all day on the first part of that verse. I’m sure we all have stories this year about ‘afflictions’ we’ve faced. But that’s not the reason for this post. This is about the other side of the ‘but’. “But the Lord delivers him out of them all!”

Not part way, 1/2 way or almost way but ALL THE WAY! Our problem is we tend to keep our eyes on the problem and amplify it’s impossibilities instead of fixing our gaze on the Lord who delivers.

I hear the Father saying, “Come up higher! Check this out! This is where you are now, but this is where I see you. Focus on your future. Do you see it? Do you?” Let hope rise up now. I know someone who will never fail you, never leave you, never!

He wants you to rest in His finished work on the cross. When He cried out, “It is finished!” it wasn’t to say, I’m dying, no, He cried out that the ultimate sacrifice was finished. He redeemed you right at that moment, past, present and future sins forgiven. He didn’t leave it at that, He added all sickness, disease, poverty, anything and everything you will need, finished.

He came that you would have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Don’t look back, look ahead. Follow hard after your Redeemer. Glance at the problem, focus on Jesus.

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G

Waiting For Orders

Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. Psalm 103:20

I heard Bill Winston say, “When you speak, angels are authorized to act based on your words. Choose words of life and not death to commission your angels in your life.”

I don’t think or talk about angels much, not that I don’t believe in them because I do! I just know that we are to exalt the name of the Lord, not his angels. But lately I’ve been thinking of the role they play in Gods plan.

I look at angels as worker bees. They are the ones who go out and gather the pollen to make the honey. They have been trained to hear the Word of the Lord. So when we speak His Word in faith (which is the activator of the Word), they are dispatched to go after that Word.

I see this in the book of Jeremiah where God is training him to speak what he hears God say. “You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.”

If we have an understanding of who we are, whose we are and more importantly, the power of our words, we would be more earnest to speak more of His Word over our situations then to curse, spit, sputter and worry over them. If we actually believed that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, then from that position of authority, we would be imitators of Christ, healing the sick, raising the dead, bringing hope to the hopeless.

I believe God has called all of us, like Jeremiah in chapter 1:10, “See, I have this day appointed you to the oversight of the nations and of the kingdoms to root out and pull down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

How can I do this? I’m just a simple woman, no special abilities or talents. I have no influence over the nations or kingdoms of this earth! But you see, it’s this mindset that has kept me hidden in the dark. Because according to the Word of God, yes I do!

I have great influence because I have the hidden treasure of His Word in my heart. When I speak in faith in my prayer closet, over things God burdens me for, I have more influence in the earth then any casual conversation I could have with anyone.

I think the key here is, speak what God shows us to speak. We will be more effective if we focus on what He tells us to speak instead of speaking what we want to. We want a lot of things, but our purpose is what Jesus’ purpose was, “to do the will of the Father that sent me.”

Whew, I think I have something to think about today. Psalm 141:3, “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.”

May I say what You say, do what You do and be an imitator of Your creative power and ability to change situations, people and nations. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G
