A Prayer For Favor

“Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of this Your servant and to the prayer of Your servants who delight in revering Your name. Give Your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” Nehemiah 1:11

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us-yes, establish the work of our hands.” Ps 90:17

Both Nehemiah and David had no problem with asking God for favor. Dictionary.com defines favor as excessive kindness or unfair partiality; preferential treatment. It’s not something we deserve or can earn, it’s the unearned, undeserved favor of God. It’s similar to when you buy your children gifts out of your generous nature. When you see something you know they’d enjoy, you just buy it for them for the mere pleasure of seeing the smile on their face.

Jesus said that if we ask, we would receive so ask big! Ask because He’s your Father and He loves you. Ask because it’s His pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Ask and expect what you ask for because if you ask for bread, He won’t give you a stone.

Father, I ask that at every turn, wherever I go, whatever I do, may I have divine connections and the favor of the Lord. Be with our pastors, parents, employers; our children, grandchildren & siblings. I ask not just for myself, but that your favor would be upon them all. In Jesus’ Name and for YOUR glory, Lord, that your Kingdom would come upon the earth.

Let His Favor Overwhelm You,

Sandy G
