Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19 TPT
Have you ever had such a deep sense in your spirit that God was up to something BIG? I’ve heard this passage over and over for the past couple of years and each time I do, it’s as though fire works go off. NEW THINGS, NEW THINGS, NEW THINGS!!!
New things aren’t necessarily ‘good things’ or ‘bad things’, but they are definitely new things. When I think of the word ‘new’, I think of something I’ve never had or experienced before. What’s currently going on in the world is new to me. I’ve never had to wear a mask to work. I’ve never had my husband in the hospital for 6 weeks without being able to visit him.
These things are new to me. Most of them I don’t like and don’t want, but I think you’ll agree they are new. So many are saying, “This is the new normal!” But there is nothing ‘normal’ about what we’re experiencing. It’s not how God designed us or created us to be. Jesus said we are to lay hands on the sick and they would recover but it’s impossible to do that when we’re forbidden to touch.
What I do sense in my spirit is that the new things God is doing, is uprooting the familiar. He’s taking away complacency and giving us a heart for the changes He’s making in His Bride, preparing her to be the perfect and spotless one His Son is returning for.
That process looks different for each and every one of us, but it’s a process we must all go through. Things must change in us. We must not be distracted by what’s happening around us, but what is happening in us must become our focus.
What is the Spirit speaking to you? What is He asking of you? There is a shifting in the earth but more importantly, there’s a shifting in us, His remnant. He never said it would be tied up in a nice neat bow. It’s going to be messy but marvelous, risky but rewarding, astronomical but astounding.
Are you ready to stop comparing your journey with the journey others are on? Are you ready to see only Jesus as you walk closely behind Him? Stop expecting different results when you’re unwilling to change the way you’re doing life. New doors are going to open but they won’t look like the old doors you’re used to. Stop trying different keys to open what’s been closed. Move along!
Stepping into the light of His presence will show others that we’re all in this to be a light. Your light will look like only yours can, but it’s still a reflection of being with Him. His glory will heal the sick. His glory will raise the dead. You’re just a vessel of His righteousness to change the space you’re in. Don’t be overwhelmed with the harvest. Work the field you’re in and allow the light to change the world you live in.
Until Tomorrow,
Sandy G
