The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Psalms 37:23
One of my favorites, this verse. Why? Because I love the adventures I see in my journey when God orders my steps. Life with Him is never boring. His path sometimes takes me through mine fields, testing my ability to listen to His direction. Some people prefer a walk in the park and there are times that is nice, but I rather like a challenge because its what draws me near to trust Him more.
A climb up a difficult path often gives way to the most breathtaking views. There’s nothing like the feeling that comes after a deep time of intercession, crying out for a friend or a loved one. To see the end as God does, to proclaim and decree a thing then watch it come to pass.
I listened as my husband told someone, “My heart stopped for 30 seconds. If it wasn’t for Gods hand on my life, I could have been dead right now. But because of His Spirit in me and His plans for me, I’m still alive.” For years Walt has quoted this verse, “My steps are ordered by the Lord and He takes great delight in the plans He has for me.” It wasn’t a pleasant experience having a triple bypass in the middle of this pandemic, but He trusted God’s plans and daily grows stronger in body and spirit.
We always want the easy way out, the smoothest path, the bright sunny days. But what if that’s not the way God has for you to walk? Are you ready to place your hand in His and trust Him in this moment? Are you willing to walk the rocky road? Climb the difficult trail? Weather some bad storms and some dark days? Will you trust Him even when you can’t see what lies ahead and fear grips you?
Been there! Done that! Bought the t-shirt, wore it out, threw it away and bought a new one. But I would never trade the deep trust I’ve earned in the process. Never!
Until Tomorrow,
Sandy G
