Son, Don’t Eat The Fertilizer!

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. Genesis 2:15

A farmer took his son out to help him plant a garden. He explained to him that what they planted in the spring, they would eat of through the fall and winter months when things don’t grow.

Together, they pulled out the rototiller and began to work up the hard soil. Row after row, preparing the ground to receive the seed. After raking, they placed stakes at each end of the garden and tied string to the stakes to form a straight row, and meticulously planted rows of corn, peas, beans, potatoes and carrots.

As they worked quietly together, the son asked, “Dad, why do we put manure on the garden?” The father replied, “Son, it’s fertilizer and it helps the garden grow.”

His son looked at him thoughtfully and after a long pause, he asked his father, “Daddy, should I be eating manure to help me grow?” His father chuckled and ruffled the sons hair with the palm of his hand, “No son, don’t eat the fertilizer! It’s good for the ground to help the veggies to grow so that we can eat the veggies and grow strong.”

Everything has it’s purpose. Know the purpose and value of what you have and use. The ground has a purpose. The rototiller has a purpose. The stakes have a purpose. The string has a purpose. The seed has a purpose. The fertilizer has a purpose.

What part do you play in the Kingdom of God? Do you know your purpose? I believe the Spirit of God is beginning to awaken in you your purpose. He’s been preparing you, honing your skills, applying pressure, working patience, creating events to strengthen your trust and it’s all for His harvest.

Others need what’s in you, my friend. You were created for His purpose and His alone. We are closing in on harvest time where all will partake of what is in you. Stay the course. He knows the plans He has for you!

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G
