But you who are known as the Pharisees are rotten to the core! You’ve been poisoned by the nature of a venomous snake. How can your words be good and trustworthy if you are rotten within? For what has been stored up in your hearts will be heard in the overflow of your words! Matthew 12:34 TPT
“…what has been stored up in your hearts will be heard in the overflow of your words!” We read this verse and think, those Pharisees just didn’t get it! They were so deceived. My friend, have you ever taken the time to listen to what comes out of your mouth? Take a day, two days, and pay attention to what you’re saying to others or about others. Listen to your self talk. Who’s been influencing you?
I’ve always been intrigued by this very simple fact; we are what we eat. That’s not just physical food, that’s mental food. The well we draw from and drink from, it possesses the ability to keep us healthy and whole or spread disease in us and to others. What are you giving others to drink?
It’s time for some of us to awaken to the fact that the things we’ve allowed to fill our hearts, have indeed polluted our wells. It’s time to repent and ask the Father to purify our hearts and cleanse us inside and out. To pay close attention to what we’ve allowed to speak to our heart. To tighten the reigns of self-control and not enter into any type of perversion.
One step too close to the edge of the cliff, causes a fall that was never meant to happen. One decision to allow the wrong influences into our lives, can cause us to slip into doubt and unbelief. That’s why Paul admonished the Corinthians:
Don’t continue to team up with unbelievers in mismatched alliances, for what partnership is there between righteousness and rebellion? Who could mingle light with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and Satan? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What friendship does God’s temple have with demons? For indeed, we are the temple of the living God, just as God has said: I will make my home in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. For this reason, “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will embrace you. I will be a true Father to you, and you will be my beloved sons and daughters,” says the Lord Yahweh Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Don’t allow this to be the only time you think about the things of God. Allow Him to consume your thoughts and flood your heart with the reality He has created for you. Remember, the Pharisees were lovers of God, but refused to let go of the law to embrace Grace. Don’t refuse to let go of things that keep you from receiving everything Father has for you.
Until Next Time,
Sandy G
Whew! Heavy goodness….
I hear the Lord saying, “separate yourselves, and come out from among them….
This is truly the season of making holy alliances and not conforming, OR ELSE. This is the season of beginnings for new wine and new wineskins. It’s time for the remnant to arise and be the salt of the earth and the light of the world..
Amen!!!
