Shine Brightly

“God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!  So now there is no longer any condemnation for those who believe in him, but the unbeliever already lives under condemnation because they do not believe in the name of God’s beloved Son.  And here is the basis for their judgment: The Light of God has now come into the world, but the hearts of people love their darkness more than the Light, because they want the darkness to conceal their evil.  So the wicked hate the Light and try to hide from it, for their lives are fully exposed in the Light.  But those who love the truth will come out into the Light and welcome its exposure, for the Light will reveal that their fruitful works were produced by God.”

Have you ever encountered someone who felt uncomfortable around you yet drawn to you as well? I mean, they may never invite you to a party, but being around you makes them feel good? Have you ever wondered why? I have!

I believe it’s all about the light we carry. Although it exposes the sin, it also reveals truth and the Bible clearly says that when they know the truth, it sets them free. They can be in a very dark place and be drawn to the light. That light brings hope, it opens it’s arms of love and doesn’t condemn or bring shame, it simply reveals the way to more light-Jesus.

It allows them to be who they want to be regardless if they’re in agreement with you or not. God respects our decision even if it’s wrong. Holy Spirit will continue to work on us so we see the error of our ways, but it’s our choice to stay in the dark or turn on the light. True love becomes the light in their dark place so they recognize the difference when the light is no longer there.

It takes a laid-down-lover of Jesus to position themselves as a light in a very dark place. Personally, I’d much rather be around fellow believers! Nothing like a big old freaking brightly lit space, right? Wrong. Where is the light best utilized? In the darkness.

That’s where I’ll be. With the broken, the hurting, those in need of a healer. With the lost, so that I can point the way to the Brightness of His Light. I don’t need a big platform or to stand in front of other lights, I want my light to shine so big that it glorifies my Father in Heaven.

Until Tomorrow-Keep Shining!
