Let Peace Gobble You Up

Perfect, absolute peace surrounds those whose imaginations are consumed with you;  they confidently trust in you. Yes, trust in the Lord Yahweh forever and ever! For Yah, the Lord God, is your Rock of Ages! Isaiah 26:3-4

I instantly thought of this picture I’d seen awhile ago. A quiet place where He and I can be alone together. My God in whom I trust.Coleman Camping Project

No that’s not me, but it’s the place I go in my imagination when it get’s crowded by thoughts of defeat and discouragement. When the accusations of the enemy become louder than the voice of God, I step away from the noise into the secret place.

When I want to step in and rescue but the Lord says, “Not this time. I’m doing a work in them that the only part you’ll play is to speak my Word and encourage them.” I rush into the place where peace consumes me and I smile, knowing that the same God who brought me out will bring them out as well.

When I think of a rock, I think of something strong. A large rock that I hide in could be a cave. God is that to me! My Rock of Ages has stood the test of time. He is the place I run to in time of trouble. When life gets stressful, His perfect peace rushes in, but only when I allow my mind to be consumed with thoughts of Him.

That’s where the shield of faith comes in. Faith in God comes through obedience to His voice when you can’t see it. It’s remembering the stories of old when God spoke a not-a-lick-of-sense instruction so that He would get all the glory in the end. You don’t have to run it by a friend, you just need to obey and believe.

So go for it! Let your mind be consumed by thoughts of the greatness of God and watch the peace come rushing in. Peace over your health. Peace over your finances. Peace over your problem. Peace over your children.

We speak Peace be still over every intentional distraction today. Just as You said, we believe You will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are fixated on You.

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G
