People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. Likewise, out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words. Luke 6:45 TPT
What kind of fruit are you producing? Because the way I’m seeing what Jesus said, you can’t produce good things from a bad place.
Don’t get me wrong. We all have bad things happen in our lives. It’s what you do when you’re there that decides what fruit you bear in life.
Last week I shared Joseph’s story with you. Remember his dreams and how his lifes journey led him to a purpose God had planned to save Israel? He could have chosen to gripe and complain about all those things he went through, but he chose to flip his mindset. To believe the dreams and trust the God who gave them.
I’d rather be accused of being a hopeless optimist than complain about all the bad things I’ve experienced in my life. When I find myself focusing on the bad, I’ve learned to flip my thoughts and think on better things.
Be aware of your thoughts and flip them. Don’t dwell on your past, dwell on your promises. Get in the Word and allow it to shape your future. Start speaking and agreeing with God and watch things shift around you.
It’s all about perspective and ours is limited. God knows all and sees all, following Him will always lead you down the right path even when it looks wrong.
When you’re afraid you’ve screwed up and your mind is freaking out, flip those thoughts and remember, your steps are ordered by the Lord and He has great things planned for you. He always takes what Satan meant for bad and use them for good.
When you’re experiencing loss over and over again and can’t see hope in sight, flip those thoughts to remember that Job lost everything and God restored to him more than he had before.
When you’re discouraged, don’t stay there, flip it. Call on Him and He will answer you and show you great and mighty things you don’t know yet.
Change your thinking so you can produce good things for God. Learning to flip your thinking changes your outcome. Focusing on the pain makes it hurt more, but focusing on God and being available for Him to work through changes outcomes.
