Great Mercy

“For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer. Isaiah 54:7-8

There have been times where I felt God was a tad bit angry with me, where I couldn’t hear His voice or feel His sweet presence. But I had to remind myself that He said He’d never leave me or forsake me and I know He never will.

He is a kind and loving Father, always. Whether we feel it or not, He stands ready to show us He’s merciful. Whether we deserve it or not, the blood of Jesus covers our sin and He remembers it no more.

That was a hard concept for me. Because I remember, how could God not? I felt I had to remind Him what I did and when I did it. I remember kneeling by my bed and asking Him to forgive me for something I seemed to do repeatedly. He said, “I don’t remember that!” I laughed and said, “But you have to, you know everything.” He replied, “If you’ve asked forgiveness once, it’s enough. I live outside of time, my forgiveness is forever.”

I never doubted His nature again. He is Love. His blood is enough. His mercies are new every morning. He is forever faithful. If He said it, you can believe it forever.
