In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 AMPC

As I stood beside the bed of my friend, I ‘saw’ the Spirit of God hovering over her. He seemed to be moving back and forth as if waiting. Goose bumps coursed over my body as though someone had left the door open and the cold air had found it’s way to my warm skin.

I heard the Lord say, “Go back and read Genesis 1:1-3 again.” Suddenly I realized that the Holy Spirit was waiting for God to command so that He could do what was said. At that moment, He was hovering over my friend, waiting for the command of healing and restoration. He was waiting for us to speak. He was waiting for us to take our authority and speak.

Just then, Walt began to command healing into her body. He began speaking the Word over her and I joined in agreement. Holy Spirit became very active. Just like in the beginning, He was simply waiting for the Word.

What situation are you facing that is so dark it’s impossible to see? It can’t be darker than it was in the beginning. Remember the Spirit is hovering and waiting for you to boldly proclaim what the Word says so that He can do the work needed to bring the answer you’re looking for.

Don’t become discouraged if you don’t see immediate results! Those may come when you least expect it in ways you can’t see right away, but it’s still coming. Sometimes we want to see it our way when God has a better way. Either way, begin rejoicing because He heard you and He’s working.
