For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him. Romans 8:29 TPT
Have you ever thought about that? Jesus being the oldest Son in a vast family of brothers and sisters? And that we’ll become just like Him? Wow! That’s a bit hard to imagine right now for some of us.
But regardless of how we see ourselves or others, the fact remains that we are all a part of a very large family and that family originates in Heaven with our Father God. His Spirit birthed our spirits which gave us life. We are linked, each believer, by the Spirit of God that lives in each of us.
I was discussing the Word with a friend and just sharing some revelation God had given me. We were bouncing off each other on the phone, caught up in discussing the character of God and how much He wants relationship with us so that He can expose the lies we’ve believed all our lives. Lies that at times came from the pulpit by well meaning pastors who gave logical answers to spiritual questions without consulting the Holy Spirit to see if they were true.
I ended the conversation with, “I’m so glad we’re sisters!” I love how God has linked me together with like minded people who are so in love with God and just want to seek His face and grow deeper in their relationship with Him.
It’s always been God’s plan to redeem us. It’s always been His plan that none should perish, but all would come to the knowledge of His grace. It’s always been His plan for us to serve Him and love Him with our whole heart. It’s always been His plan for us to be like Jesus. But it’s our choice to go with His plan or ours. He’ll never force you to surrender, that’s your choice, but seriously? Haven’t you always wanted an older brother to look up to, one you could emulate?
Jesus, I want to be just like you. I want to love like you, shine my light like you so that everyone can see the Father through me. I surrender to your plan. I surrender to your leadership. I surrender to your will and your ways. I surrender my plans for yours. So that one day I may return to live with you in the home you’ve prepared for me. It’s for you I live and it’s in your name I pray, Amen.
Until Tomorrow,
Sandy G
