‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3
I just get down right excited when I get a glimpse of a deeper revelation of a word I thought I knew all about. When I’m just reading along, minding my own business and my teacher says, “Go back and read that again.” I know that when I show up to class with expectations, I’m always guaranteed to learn something new.
I would have loved to be in the room as the disciples began to write the things they remembered that Jesus said. To watch the ‘light’ come on as they saw prophesy after prophesy from the old testament come to pass through what He said and did in the earth.
I’m learning that there were times in my life where I’d experienced things that I thought were a mistake, yet years down the road the Holy Spirit would reveal the significance it had and how He used it to get me to the place I ended up today.
I have began asking God, “What’s in it for me? What’s in this promise? What’s in this verse? What’s in this trial? Help me get through this well, to finish well so that I can help others with it.” I’m not asking for selfish reasons. I truly want to know what He has purposed for me in this.
Instead of focusing on the problem you’re going through, I challenge you to do the same. “Father, I want to learn through this, I want my faith to grow stronger. Deepen my trust in You. Let me gain Your perspective in this situation. Help my light to shine so that it may show others the way to You.”
To Him who has all the answers and waits for us to ask, be glory and honor forever, Amen.
