Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him. I John 4:7

There are two words that are polar opposite and are highly visible in the world today; Love & Hate. Since God is Love, those who love with sacrificial, deep, you can’t do anything so bad that I won’t love you kind of love, God is their father.  But those who hate others for any reason have chosen a different father.

That’s pretty black and white, right? Listen, I didn’t make this up! As much as I want to see everyone go to heaven, the only way to get there is by believing that Jesus Christ is the son of God, be His disciples and love as He did. If you choose God as your father and obey Him, heaven is your home.

But the opposite is true as well. God has given us all the right to choose the dark side, but in doing so you’ve chosen hate and Satan is the father of that side. If that’s what you choose to go after, hatred, selfishness, cheating, lying and spiritual blindness are a part of your portion and your eternal home will be hell. It wasn’t meant for you to go there, but it’s always been and will always be your choice.

But as a believer in the God who is love, everyone of us will stand before Him when we die and be judged on how we loved others. No exceptions! If you have difficulty with this, let me add that this was the first commandment of the 12-Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. Not your ‘good’ neighbor, but the other one. Why? Because it’s the only way the world will know we’re His.

John 13:35 Jesus speaking, “For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.” People should not have to guess! We shouldn’t be hiding the greatest tool we’ve been given to change the world-LOVE! It’s not about agreeing or disagreeing. It’s not about being right or wrong, it’s simply about LOVE!

Father, forgive us for not reflecting you to the world. There have been so many times I’ve found it difficult to swallow my pride and love anyway. I’m discovering that the more I come to know you, the easier it is to love. For while I was yet in sin, you loved me. When you saw me hurt someone, you loved me and told me I could love them too if I just looked at you. I can only reflect what I see so help me see you in others. Every one was created by you. They have your DNA, help me to see only that when I look at them, not the deception they’ve taken as truth. It’s in Jesus’ name and his deep love for all, Amen.
