One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope. He shared with them this illustration:

“In a certain town there was a civil judge, a thick-skinned and godless man who had no fear of others’ opinions.  And there was a poor widow in that town who kept pleading with the judge, ‘Grant me justice and protect me against my oppressor!’

“He ignored her pleas for quite some time, but she kept asking. Eventually he said to himself, ‘This widow keeps annoying me, demanding her rights, and I’m tired of listening to her. Even though I’m not a religious man and don’t care about the opinions of others, I’ll just get her off my back by answering her claims for justice and I’ll rule in her favor. Then she’ll leave me alone.’” Luke 18:1-5 TPT

I’ve always loved the story. At the very beginning it explains the reason for the story; to teach us our need for constant prayer and to never give up hope. It seems to be a continuation of the teaching to keep on knocking and the door will be opened.

We just don’t pray long enough. We pray a few times and when it doesn’t show up we use the lame excuse, “Well, perhaps it just wasn’t Gods will.” What ever happened to keep on seeking, keep on asking, keep on knocking? We’ve turned into a bunch of spoiled, microwave Christians. If we can’t get it in 3 minutes or less, we move on to something else.

I’ve been asking for something for years now and I have the assurance that if I don’t become weary and stop, I WILL GET WHAT I PRAY FOR! That’s enough for me. I will go back time and time again until I see the manifestation of what I’m believing for.

Not yet doesn’t mean never. Keep serving, keep giving, keep living, keep praying. Jesus never quit! Death wasn’t even the final blow cause He had already said He’d rise in 3 days. Stop speaking defeat and start speaking the end result.

Time to ask God to breathe life back into our dreams. An unanswered prayer is not denial, its just delayed so keep asking! Daniel prayed for 21 days before the angel of the Lord showed up. But let’s not forget that he was dispatched the first day, he encountered some opposition on the way.

Father, You are so faithful and You hear us and love us.  Because You do, what I ask according to Your Word, You will give me. Teach me to trust You even when it doesn’t show up for years. I will just keep seeking to know You more and to be available when You need me. It’s in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Look how the wicked conceive their evil schemes.
They go into labor with their lies and give birth to trouble.
They dig a pit for others to fall into,
not knowing that they will be the very ones
who will fall into their own pit of failure.

Have you ever been acquainted with a pit-digger? David was. His whole life was filled with stories of opposition on every side. His own father excluded him from the ‘Samuel Gathering’, his brother opposed him from going up against Goliath, Saul opposed him, Absalom, his own son opposed him and turned the people against him.

Regardless of what came against him in his life, his mouth was filled with praise to God. We need to learn a lesson from David and his ‘but’. It’s ok to take your complaints to the Lord, just don’t forget the ‘but’.

But I will give all my thanks to you, Lord, for you make everything right in the end.

His ‘but’ took the attention off the problem and placed praise back on God. It became the shift in his focus, the catalyst of turn-about, the refreshing reminder that God is bigger than anything that could come against him or attempt to destroy him.

Your ‘but’ can change everything for you today. Don’t leave your complaints in an elevated position. Let God be God and every man a liar!

But my God will supply all my needs according to HIS riches in glory.

But my God will deliver me from every trap the enemy has set for me.

But my God gives me joy unspeakable!

But my God will watch over my children and bless them.

Go ahead and create your own ‘but’ based on your own situation and give Him all your praise today.

Peter told them, “I’m going fishing.” And they all replied, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and fished through the night, but caught nothing.

Then at dawn, Jesus was standing there on the shore, but the disciples didn’t realize that it was him!  He called out to them, saying, “Hey guys! Did you catch any fish?”

“Not a thing,” they replied.

Jesus shouted to them, “Throw your net over the starboard side, and you’ll catch some!” And so they did as he said, and they caught so many fish they couldn’t even pull in the net! John 21:3-6 TPT

Though the disciples had fished all night and caught nothing, one word from Jesus and an over abundance jumped into their net. He’s the same God and it’s the same word today. It will cause an empty bank account to overflow in abundance.

My God is no respector of persons. What He did, He continues to do. His Word is still working today because it’s alive! Thats my God!

I don’t know what you’re facing, but if you’ve seemingly been doing it all night and nothing is happening, stop and praise God for His living Word. Ask Him what He wants you to do now and no matter how foolish it sounds, be obedient because therein lies your miracle. God wants to actively participate in your life but as long as you think you’ve got it, He will not interfere.

Later Peter approached Jesus and said, “How many times do I have to forgive my fellow believer who keeps offending me? Seven times?”

Jesus answered, “Not seven times, Peter, but seventy times seven times!” Matthew 18:21-22

Someone once asked me, “How do you know when you’ve forgiven someone?” My answer: When you can think of them with love. Until those feelings of hurt and anger stop pouring out of you when you talk of them or talk about the situation.

If Jesus could love that much, how can I not also if I am indeed His. Until I release it, it will hold onto me like a stubborn stain on a favorite shirt. Gods stain remover is the blood of Jesus.

Unforgiveness is like formaldehyde, it will preserve bitterness forever. Love on the other hand, encases your heart like a shield and deflects the arrows back onto those who sent it. Love covers a multitude of sin.

Let love have its perfect work in your heart today. What happened is in the past, its a part of your journey. It may have been a wild ride, but perhaps God needed to refine you as pure gold so that what comes forth will be more valuable to Him. 

Father, I choose to exchange every hurt for love. I pray blessings on those who have attempted to harm me with their words. Every word curse that’s been spoken against me, you have stopped and turned into a blessing. You are indeed an awesome and mighty God.

Lord, you are so good to me, so kind in every way and ready to forgive, for your grace-fountain keeps overflowing, drenching all your lovers who pray to you. Psalm 86:5

It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from or your education level, God needs you! If you surrender to Him, He will use you in the weirdest places in the strangest ways. Take on His nature of love and you will shine in the darkest places.

It’s time to put hands and feet to the Kingdom of God and be His witnesses in our work place, our community and homes. We all have talents and abilities, skills that God can use to show that famous Love.

You may ask, what can I do? Take an inventory of what you’re able to do and add Gods ability to it. He will use your little, multiply it and make much out of it.

Walt and I have always looked for ways to help those who have less or are going through a tough time. We take what little we have and bless them with it. Just a can of soup can make a meal. Just a smile and word of encouragement can give someone strength to take another step. Just praying God’s peace over someone may be enough to change their lives.

Change your ‘but I don’t’ to ‘I can do this’ and watch God give you opportunities to love. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Father, I ask for divine opportunities to show Your love today. In the middle of my busyness and business, may I constantly be looking for ways to show others Your deep abiding grace and goodness. Its’ in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

I thank you, Lord, and with all the passion of my heart I worship you in the presence of angels! Heaven’s mighty ones will hear my voice as I sing my loving praise to you. Psalm 138:1

There is no place I’d rather be than in the presence of the Lord, but I don’t just experience that at church on Sunday morning when the worship is in full swing and everyone has their arms raised singing and praising Him. Long ago I realized that I am a carrier of worship, a carrier of the oil of the Holy Spirit.

Everywhere I go, He goes. Everything I do, I do with Him. Everything I need is found in Him. I am constantly changed in His presence so it is there that I will remain until He who has began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it.

Every morning when I rise, I give Him thanks. All through the day I praise Him for who He is, for His direction and grace. He creates paths around road blocks, bridges over rivers. He parts the sea and multiplies loaves and fishes. Is there anything He can’t do? The answer to that is a resounding NO. God is able to complete what He started. He may not share His plans with me, but He won’t leave me stranded.

Come and lift your hands and praise Him with me. He is more than able. He’s willing!

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

We ask for your favor, Lord. Not that it rain down on us, but that it would wrap around us as a shield, protecting us, keeping us, directing us.

Favor that touches every aspect of our lives, health, relationships, connections, business, finances, family. Favor on our jobs, in our homes, on our pastors, our churches.

Open doors that previously remained stubbornly closed, allowing us to move forward in your plans and purposes.

Victory for battles! Promotion Transfer! Lord, let our ears be attentive and our mouth in agreement.

I prophesy favor, as you have told me to do, now great provider, do as only you can do. Blow from the north, the south, the east and the west. May every front be affected and transformed.

I will stand this day and see the salvation of my God for You are faithful to Your Word and You are moved by my faith and trust in You. You will not allow my enemies to triumph over me.

It’s in Your great name and for Your glory. Amen

I will give them a single purpose and put a new spirit in them. I will remove their stubborn hearts and give them obedient hearts. Ezekiel 11:19 GW

I’ve been observing a whole lot of people who seem to have a whole lot of time on their hands to talk about other people. They voice their observations as if reinforcing what they see through the words they speak.

“Things are so bad and seem to be getting worse!” “So many hard-hearted people who refuse to hear the truth!” “Can you believe that happened?” “Did you hear?” “Did you see the news last night?”

The only way things will ever change is when we change what we see and say. It’s the nature of God to speak things into existence and we are His children. We shouldn’t be moved by what we see in the natural world, we should be moving the natural world by speaking the Word over it.

If what is coming out of your mouth doesn’t line up with what God has spoken, you’re being moved by the wrong things. Set your heart on things above, not below. Meditate on the Word of God and allow it to trump the situation you’re facing. Stop allowing your spirit to be overwhelmed by your flesh. God is bigger than that!

Instead of saying, “I fear for this generation!”, begin to say, “Thank You Father for putting a new spirit in them and exchanging their stubborn heart for obedient ones.” Nothing changes until you change how you see things!

Read Philippians 4:8-9 so that you know what you’re to think on. Change your thoughts and you’ll change your words. Nothing is impossible with God so stop limiting Him by the way you think because of what you’ve heard. Train your brain to think right! Train your mouth to speak right! Change your expectations and your results will be different.

Again, the person who looked like a human touched me, and I became stronger.  He said, “Don’t be afraid. You are highly respected. Everything is alright! Be strong! Be strong!”

As he talked to me, I became stronger. I said, “Sir, tell me what you came to say. You have strengthened me.” Daniel 10:18-19

Daniel was pregnant with vision and didn’t know it. He’d never birthed anything before, yet his spirit cried out. 21 days of labor that grew in intensity. Until one day the angel of the Lord stood before him with a word from God.

Daniel began with a desire to understand. He humbled himself before God and cried out. It says that the very first day, God heard and sent the angel with a message but he was detained by Satan who was trying to keep the answer from him. He even had to send for angelic interference so that he could get to Daniel with the message.

I sense there are many around the world who are waiting for an answer. You’ve cried out day after day after day and felt as if God has turned a deaf ear to your cries. My friend, you couldn’t be further from the truth! He has heard and has already sent the answer.

There is something about sitting in the presence of the Lord and allowing His voice to speak into your spirit that causes strength to come. Moments of deep intercession that drain you are instantly infused with unspeakable peace. In this season of waiting, allow the Spirit of God who is in you to strengthen you.

I have a word for you in the form of a song my mom often sings:

“Oh yes the answers on the way this I know! Jesus said it, I believe it and it’s so. Our heavenly Father knows our need before we pray, and we can rest assured, the answers on the way!”

Thank You Father for the answer! Thank You that even when the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches try to drown out Your voice, I hear You whisper, “Hold on child, it’s almost here!” Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, showing me which direction to take and which to avoid. I will wait in Your presence for that is where my help comes from. It’s in Jesus’ name, Amen
