Standing On The Promises

Sometimes when we’re in the middle of a tremendous, overwhelming situation, we lose sight of how faithful God has been to us in the past. My God is able. That’s where Israel was when their enemies threatened them. They fell on their faces and cried out to the Lord and He answered them.

II Chronicles 20:15-17, “This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

And what a mighty victory it was. They rested in Gods Word to them and went and gathered up the spoils. God did it all.

Stop fighting battles that you weren’t intended to fight. There’s a time to fight and there’s a time to rest. Learn what season you’re in. Provision has already been made for your situation so stand on the promises of God, even when you don’t see it happen for a while.

Learn from the past, live in the present and trust God for your future.
