“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 4:2-3 NASB
But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy. And you shall tread down the lawless and wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 4:2-3 AMPC
Today I included these verses in the Amplified translation simply to show how the word ‘fear’ is being translated. It’s actually why we need to pay close attention to the commandment that says, “Do not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” Basically, His Name has meaning and value and should be spoken in reverence and honor, worshipfully and lovingly with deep respect. Definitely not as a swear word or a casual reference.
I can’t expect to receive the blessing if I’m unwilling to honor and respect His Name. I can call on the Name of Jesus and be saved from sin, sickness, disease, viruses, fear and destruction. I can call on His name for direction and deliverance. But if I continually use that name to curse my fellow human travelers, the shame is on me. It’s like the boy who cried wolf, overusing the word without meaning caused the hearer to turn a deaf ear when help was truly needed.
That is why I write about that great Name that is above all other Names-Jesus. There is no other name higher than His Name. I can and do cry out for help and He answers me each and every time. Not necessarily in the way I think He will, but always brings what I need. It doesn’t exempt me from experiencing hard times, but what joy to know that He’s with me, teaching me as I go through it.
Thank You Lord for healing that only comes from You. Emotional healing, physical healing and healing into areas of my life I was not even aware I needed. You are God and You never change. You even provided me with Your Holy Spirit to dwell in me and bring me what I need in every situation I must face. I honor Your Name and give You praise, glory and worship. It’s in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
