Throughout human history the fingerprints of God were upon them, yet they refused to honor him as God or even be thankful for his kindness. Instead, they entertained corrupt and foolish thoughts about what God was like. This left them with nothing but misguided hearts, steeped in moral darkness. Romans 1:21 The Passion Translation
They refused to honor Him, to give Him respect, to place Him in high regard, a place of highest esteem. To lose the awareness of the sovereignty of God, is to risk the fall into moral darkness. If you haven’t seen it yet, take the time to look around. Watch how low we’ve fallen by taking a moment to watch some of the TV programing or commercials on public television.
We have made the grave mistake of humanizing God in our hearts and minds. Not all of us, but so many of us have. We place a higher priority on human medicine than the blood of Jesus which heals, saves and delivers. I’ve even heard people say, “It’s ok to trust God for your health when you don’t have doctors available.” WHAT? That’s like saying that God only provides food for those who don’t have money to go buy their own. That’s worldly thinking!
God wants us to rely and trust in Him with ALL our hearts, not part. Not just when it’s easy, but when it’s hard. You develop trust, it’s not something that magically appears when you need it.
Galatians 6:7 says, “God will never be mocked! For what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest.”
You don’t want to trust in God with all your heart, it’s your choice! Nobody can make you believe what you choose not to. But when you get into a situation that only God can fix for you, don’t be surprised when your answer is what you’ve always believed in.
Father God, when people look at me, I want them to see your fingerprints on me. I want them to sense your love when I hug them, to feel your heart when I encourage them. Keep your hand on me and never take it away. I will thank You for Your goodness and mercy. I will rely on You for strength in my weakness. When I’m tired, I will draw on You for an infusion of strength.
I rely on You!
