Be Hope to Others

Love empowers us to fulfill the law of the Anointed One as we carry each other’s troubles. If you think you are somebody too important to stoop down to help another (when really you are not), you are living in deception. Galatians 6:2-3 TPT

“If I can help somebody as I pass along. If I can cheer somebody with a word or song. If I can show somebody they are traveling wrong, then my living shall not be in vain.” This very old song was sung by Ann Downing at a concert Walt and I attended while dating. The message is what life should be about….others.

We should be outward focused in everything. Always looking for opportunities to bless others in anyway we can. Thats what Jesus did. The bible tells us in Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t He say that greater things then THIS would we do? I don’t see many little Jesus’s walking the earth today. I see need all around me and Christians walking with their heads down and hearts closed to those who are desperately looking for hope. We have that hope in us! The answer to unanswered questions everywhere, in us.

Colossians 1:27 GW says it like this, “God wanted his people throughout the world to know the glorious riches of this mystery—which is Christ living in you, giving you the hope of glory.”

I had a woman tell me once that she had given up hope of her husband ever changing and coming to God and was going to leave him. She wasn’t in an abusive situation, so I said, “Wait! Don’t leave! You have hope in you! Let that hope rest in Jesus because He is able when you are not. If you seek God with all your heart, focus on Him, listen and obey Him and just trust Him, while you’re not looking at your husbands problems, God will do His perfect work in you. Yes I said you! You can’t help others until you open yourself up for surgery by God.”

Seems the enemy of our soul wants to distract us from our purpose with anything he can put in the way. Sickness, disease, financial ruin, foreclosure, children, spouses and anything else not listed here. If he can get us to focus on anything but God, he’s won! We become self absorbed, leaving the world without hope.

Oh Father, thank you for opening my eyes, helping me see the harvest around me and how white the fields are. May I be so focused on You, tuned into Your voice, a giver of hope to those in need around me. More of you, Lord, less of me. A LOT less of me!

Until Next Time,

Sandy G
