And never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them. Ephesians 4:29 TPT
Have you ever listened to the things that you say? The bible is very clear that our words are super important. In fact, Proverbs 18:21 says, “Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences.”
I dare say that we are so often tripped up by the words of our own mouth, simply because we don’t believe there are consequences to our actions, we disregard this important verse.
Here’s something to think about; when a seed is planted in the ground, do you see it sprout up right away? No, it takes time to germinate and grow, usually a few days before you see a little green pop up out of the ground. And how long till you see the fruit of what you planted? Usually 2 to 3 months. That’s why people plant in the spring to harvest in the fall.
So it is with your words. You won’t see it right away, but eventually it will show up. You will eat what you’ve planted. If you continually say, “I’m sick! I think I’ve got the virus!” than chances are, you will eventually get it. You’re sending a message to your body to get ready, it’s coming!
But let’s change our words to agree with God’s Word regardless of what you feel like. Let’s have faith in God and state, “He sent His Word (Jesus) and healed me and delivered me from all disease.” Again, it may take a little bit before it pops up out of the ground, but if you don’t waver, and you keep declaring the Word, you will reap what you sow if you faint not.
I challenge you today to do the mouth test. Listen to what’s coming out of your mouth and decide that regardless of what you see in the natural, it is subject to change by the things you speak. Stop confirming the things you feel and make a decision to stick with the unchanging Word of God.
Until Tomorrow,
