So with the wisdom given to me from the Lord I say: You should not live like the unbelievers around you who walk in their empty delusions. Their corrupted logic has been clouded because their hearts are so far from God—their blinded understanding and deep-seated moral darkness keeps them from the true knowledge of God.  Because of spiritual apathy, they surrender their lives to lewdness, impurity, and sexual obsession.

But this is not the way of life that Christ has unfolded within you.  If you have really experienced the Anointed One, and heard his truth, it will be seen in your life; for we know that the ultimate reality is embodied in Jesus! Ephesians 4:17-21 TPT

Like so many in the world today, I find it mind boggling how so many ‘Christians’ have adapted the worlds ways and standards. This word, apathy in the original greek means; insensibility to suffering, equivalent to apathe- (stem of apathḗs) unfeeling. So a spiritual apathy shows a seared conscience or being insensitive to the ways of God.

See how Paul used tries to jerk us back and get our attention? It’s not the way of life that Jesus has unfolded within you. If you’ve truly experienced Jesus and heard his truth, it will be seen in your life. Unfortunately, what is seen in the lives of so many, is a blatant disregard for what God desires to do in and through us.

There is no better way to say it than Paul to the Corinthians:

Don’t continue to team up with unbelievers in mismatched alliances, for what partnership is there between righteousness and rebellion? Who could mingle light with darkness?  What harmony can there be between Christ and Satan? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?  What friendship does God’s temple have with demons? For indeed, we are the temple of the living God, just as God has said:
