“Lord, how wonderful You are! You have stored up so many good things for us, like a treasure chest heaped up and spilling over with blessings—all for those who honor and worship You! Everybody knows what You can do for those who turn and hide themselves in You.” (Psalm 31:19 TPT)
“And the blessings keep coming! Then all the ends of the earth will give Him the honor He deserves and be in awe of Him!” (Psalm 67:7 TPT)
I remember a little song my mom would sing each time she received a blessing from the Lord. It went like this; “You can’t out give the Lord, no matter what you do. You’ll find that in the end, the Lords out given you. With silver and with gold, with love and service too, you can’t out give the Lord, no matter what you do.”
Each time I come before the Lord, I always want to thank Him first before I do anything else. It’s not a ‘religious’ thing, it’s a constant reminder to be thankful. In Psalm 100:4 TPT, David gives us the password, “You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise. Come right into his presence with thanksgiving. Come bring your thank offering to him and affectionately bless his beautiful name!”
Each time I’m tempted to focus on my lack, I flip to praise. When I’m feeling the pressure of all I have to take care of, I thank Him for guiding, directing and giving me peace. When the noise outside overwhelms me, I close my eyes and draw near to Him and He always reaches out and embraces me in His arms.
I hear someone say, “Sandy, that doesn’t work for me!” Well let me say this, it may not work for you, but it works for Him! Life isn’t all about you. You were created to worship and have fellowship with Him. When you make Him a priority and honor Him, He will satisfy you with long life and show you the sweetness of His salvation.
“If He keeps on blessing and blessing. If He keeps on pouring it on. If His love just keeps getting richer. If He keeps on giving a song. If my cup gets fuller and fuller. If my prayers keep on getting through. If it keeps getting better and better oh Lord, I don’t know what I’m gonna do!”
Until Tomorrow-Be thankful!
