Covered By Glory

Unknown-1

King David’s song when he was forced to flee from Absalom, his own son

The Humbling of a King

Lord, I have so many enemies, so many who are against me.
Listen to how they whisper their slander against me, saying:
“Look! He’s hopeless! Even God can’t save him from this!”
Pause in his presence

The Help of God

But in the depths of my heart I truly know
that you, Yahweh, have become my Shield;
You take me and surround me with yourself.
Your glory covers me continually.
You lift high my head when I bow low in shame.
I have cried out to you, Yahweh, from your holy presence.
You send me a Father’s help.
Pause in his presence

The Song of Safety

So now I’ll lie down and sleep like a baby—
then I’ll awake in safety, for you surround me with your glory.

Psalm 3:1-5 TPT

Those who cry out in the middle of their test will end up with a testimony. Those who focus on their test will continue being tested. I don’t know about you, but I want to focus on the one who covers and cares for me. Regardless of how many enemies came against David, it was his sincere magnification of His God that saved him every time.

It’s so easy to get our focus wrong. I’m not saying to ignore the problem, but it can’t consume you either. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6 that when you’ve done all you can do, stand. Stand in the knowledge of the truth of God’s Word. Stand in the stillness of His presence. Stand in the power of of His glory. Let Him cover you.

My friend, you may be facing the biggest giant you’ve ever seen. Perhaps you’re not sure how to conquer your fear and the intimidation it brings, but let me assure you, God is bigger and He has you covered. It’s at times like this we all need a Savior and Jesus, He is that for us. He’s your glory and the lifter of your head.

I hear the words to the old hymn, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.” There’s so much truth in that song. When we focus on Jesus and all He’s done, we realize that nothing is impossible if we believe.

What about you? Where does your mind go and how long will it stay there before you realize you’re thinking on the wrong things? The One who covers you, holds you in the palm of His hand. He never leaves you or forsakes you. He has plans for you and a future like you can’t imagine. Keep your eyes on Him. You can’t do it, but He’s got you covered.

Until Tomorrow,

Sandy G
