Psalm 138:1-3, I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.
Praise, it’s the oil in us that lubricates the atmosphere and invites the presence of God. It’s what reminds our spirits just Who is in charge. Regardless of the chaos that appears, it’s our worship that restores peace.
Have you ever been through a battle that totally wiped you out? I have! Do you know what I did? I forced myself to my feet and began to give Him praise. It was hard at first. I didn’t ‘feel’ like it at all. I just wanted to pull a blanket over my head and lay down. But the Holy Spirit reminded me that I was still here, still standing, and that as long as He was in me, I’d have the power over the enemy every time. Wow! That made me praise Him even more.
We seem to forget that we’ve not been promised NO battles; we’ve been promised the victory, something we must fight for. Verses 7-8 says; Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
Thank You Lord that You are with me. Though the battle has been real and I stand before You this morning extremely weary, yet YOU are my deliverer, my fortress, in YOU I will trust. YOU have extended Your hand to me and lifted me from despair. YOU are my shield, my strong tower. YOU revive me so that I may continue to praise and worship You this day. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
