But He Promised!

Psalm 138:8, “Lord, I know you will do what you have promised. Lord, your faithful love will last forever. You are the one who made us, so don’t leave us!” Matthew 28:19-20, “So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have told you to do. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time.”

David was so sure of the Lord. He knew that when God said He would do something, He kept His Word! He knew God as a faithful love, a promise keeper, maker and a constant friend.  It’s how Jesus wanted us to know the Father. He wants us to introduce the Father to others the same way David knew Him and the same way we know Him. It’s important that we obey the words of Jesus and make followers of all people in the world. Not that you have to travel far, because in your world, there are many who are watching your life. Hopefully they see something they don’t have; love instead of hate, faith instead of fear, compassion instead of cruelty.

People have to want something they don’t possess, otherwise there’s no appeal. If we fear what’s going on in the world instead of walking in the peace of knowing who’s in control, we only share their fear. But when our confident assurance is in the King and we walk in peace and love, it attracts or draws people to wanting what we have. We must compel others to know Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

Father, I’m thankful that I don’t fear what’s going on in this world. You have given me a peace that passes all understanding and it guards my heart and mind, because my mind is focused on You. Your Word have I hid in my heart so that I won’t have confidence in anything or anyone but You. Your said that all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. I am called. I am chosen. You have great purpose for me to make disciples, to cause others to trust in You and Your peace. May I be faithful to point all towards You. It’s in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen
