But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes.” Mark 9:23 NASB2020
Ever have someone try to hold you back? Contain you? Keep you in a box? It’s what Satan does every day. He says you can’t have that, be that or go there.
He gets you accustomed to your surroundings, comfortable in your settings, and soon you find yourself stuck simply because you limit yourself based on the lie he’s told you.
Break the restraints and bust out of the box. Live the truth of His Word. The only limits are the ones you believe are there. Sandy G
He will not allow your foot to slip; He who watches over you will not slumber.
Psalms 121:3 NASB2020
It amazes me when mere man thinks he can pull one over on God. Like He’s ever surprised! Reality check-God never sleeps!
He’s aware of you every minute of every hour of every day. He knows the battle you’ll face before it’s even on your radar. He’s already sent His angels to keep you, protect you, and strengthen you.
He knows your response before you respond. His knowledge of everything gives you access to whatever you need for life and godliness.
Don’t be afraid. He will cause even your enemies to be at peace with you. What you’re facing, you won’t face alone. Rest and restore yourself in His presence. He’s got this.
What you go through is never meant to harm you. It’s meant to season and cook you to perfection. We were never meant to focus on the process as much as the finished product.
If you’re training for a marathon, what gets you through the training is the goal of crossing the finish line. If you don’t have a goal, you’ll find it hard to go through the training.
The same is true in the Kingdom of God. Our goal is to tell others the good news of the gospel, but without a test, their is no testimony. What we go through in life gives us the ability to relate to someone God wants to reach. It’s never about you. It’s about Gods plan to reach a lost and dying world.
Gods intentions are to break you open so that His life giving love can flow through you to others. If we don’t experience brokenness, what is in us would never spill out to others.
Thank You, Father, for each test and trial, every tear I’ve shed, every horrible thing I had to endure. It’s all about Your plans to show Your love to others. How I love You and thank You for every valley, every mountain, all the grief and pain. Help me to stay broken and humbled. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Romans 5:3-5 ERV; And we are also happy with the troubles we have. Why are we happy with troubles? Because we know that these troubles make us more patient. And this patience is proof that we are strong. And this proof gives us hope. And this hope will never disappoint us. We know this because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit he gave us.
“Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. Matthew 6:6 MSG
Today, let His grace be enough. As Jesus put it in the above verse, find a quiet place in the midst of the turmoil that surrounds you and let your focus shift from you to God. Do you sense it? His glorious grace that steps toward you?
Never let it be said that Gods grace is not enough because it is. His grace has lifted you up, given safety when you were stupid, provided for you when you overspent. If you are able to walk, talk, and breathe without assistance, that’s grace. Sandy G
Promises, promises, promises! I hear it, but I don’t see it. Ever feel like that? You feel like you’re slipping into an abyss of broken promises. Nothing good seems to happen to you through no fault of your own. You’ve been faithful. You’ve stood unwavering while the black storms hammered you over and over again. You’re a train wreck! When will help come, you ask?
I’m reminded once more of Elijah and the long drought when he prayed for rain. He didn’t give up when he saw nothing once. Twice. Six times! Ok, one more time….tiny little cloud. Most of us would have said, ‘STILL NOTHING!’ Why report a cloud that small when you need a kazillion more with it!
I Kings 18:45 MSG, “Things happened fast. The sky grew black with wind-driven clouds, and then a huge cloudburst of rain, with Ahab hightailing it in his chariot for Jezreel.” OMG, did you see that? Things happened fast!
That’s what’s been in my spirit so, so strong. It’s gonna happen so fast. The Spirit of the Lord spoke to me a while ago that when things began to happen, it would happen so fast it would take my breath away. I became breathlessly excited just thinking of it.
So do I patiently wait for it, or do I give up on the promises of rain? I mean, really! How long should I have to wait, anyway! Seventeen years ago, sitting in a friends house after prayer, I had a vision. I saw an overhead window with a hand on the latch and the words, “I’m getting ready to open a window over your life to bless you. Get ready for it!” Ten years ago after Saturday night prayer again I saw the same window, the hand had turned the latch and I saw the window bulging. The word then was, “Get ready, it’s gonna bury you alive! You won’t be able to run fast enough because my blessings will chase after you!”
I don’t know what your promise is, but I do know the promise keeper! I don’t care how long I have to wait to see the manifestation of the promise, but I’ll just continue having faith in God and watch the sky be black with the abundance of rain. After all, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. Hebrews 11:1
Father, thank You for the reminder today that You remain faithful to keep promises that You’ve made. I will be thankful before You because that is where my breakthrough comes from. My words will create pathways to prosperity. I will continue to agree with You. In Jesus mighty name, amen.
It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8
I believe that God has called all of us to leave something and follow Him. The question is, are you afraid to leave the familiar to acquire the phenomenal? To trust in the God who sees when you can see nothing?
Years ago, I started meeting with my friend Mary to pray together. We would spend an hour just worshipping, interceding, and listening. I began cultivating my ability to hear Gods voice and follow His leading. The Holy Spirit would lead me to declare something, and I would, but when it didn’t happen, I thought I’d heard wrong.
My hearts cry was, “God, there has to be more! I want more! I’m not satisfied here, I want more of You!” That was when things began to get serious. He told us to sell our home and move to Florida. He put us in an environment where the prophetic and apostolic gifts were being used and began teaching us how to operate in that.
Like Abraham, we obeyed God when He asked us to leave our home and family to go to an unfamiliar place. We were ridiculed and told it was foolish to go with no provision (job), but God faithful every step of the way. Yes, there was pressure! Yes, there was fear! Yes, there was loss! Yes, there was pain! He didn’t say it would be easy, He just said to trust Him.
Sometimes, when God wants you somewhere and you’re unwilling to go, He’ll apply pressure, so it’s uncomfortable to stay where you are. He promised to direct your steps, but you must listen and obey even when it makes no sense at all.
It’s ok to go! Jesus said to go! Why then would you stay? If God is prompting you to move, to get out of your comfort zone and do something different, be sensitive to His Spirit and go. He’s positioning us to reach someone. He’s testing our listening skills. He’s checking to see if we’ll obey Him.
I’ve always loved the definition of insanity-it’s doing things the same, expecting different results. Stop walking in circles because you’re not going anywhere. MOVE! NOW! Do things differently. Get out of your routine and mix it up. You’re never too old to change.
Thank you, Father, for loving me so much that You keep me moving. Moving things are living things. I never want to be stagnant! Keep me moving and renew my strength to keep going. You’ve healed my body. You’ve healed my mind. You’re transformed me, now use me for Your glory. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Another story. “God’s kingdom is like an acorn that a farmer plants. It is quite small as seeds go, but in the course of years it grows into a huge oak tree, and eagles build nests in it.” Matthew 13:31-32 MSG
It’s hard to imagine that such a small thing as an acorn can become so big that eagles can nest there. Holding something so small and thinking of its potential takes quite the imagination. Yet every seed we sow contains promise.
The smallest word of praise can cause a child to strive towards greater accomplishments. If we truly realized their value, we would be freer in giving them.
Perhaps we should be asking Father how we can better serve Him with our words. The tongue is a creative force. No one knows that better than Him.
I hear the Lord say, “You see what’s on the outside of a seed, but only I know what a seed holds.”
Our problem is we judge a book by its cover when what’s truly valuable lies within. Sandy G
Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” 1 Samuel 22:1-4
The definition of trust is; Reliance on the integrity, Strength, Ability, Surety, etc, of a person or thing, Confidence.
What are you trusting in? Who are you trusting in? If it’s in your job, that can easily go away. If it’s in your money, that can quickly be gone. If it’s in your spouse, parents or friends, they could easily be taken. But the only thing that never fails, but always remains, is God and God alone.
When you trust in Him and His ability to work all things out, not so you can have what you want, but that the most will benefit from what is in you, than your confidence is in the right place.
We live in a very selfish world, but the God in us is always about others. Let’s trust in Him and let Him work everything else out for us. We’re His children, and He loves to care for us. Keep your eyes on Him and His Word. Everything else will take care of itself.
I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness or His power for us who believe Him. Eph 1:19
Did you see that? The greatness of His power that’s in us. Perhaps if we truly understood the magnitude of that power that’s in us, we would rule in the authority he gave us each day.
It’s the same power that raised Christ from the dead. It keeps us healed, delivers us, and keeps us safe. But we can’t operate in it if we don’t understand it.
In Luke 1:35 it says; The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.” When the Holy Spirit was deposited in, He gave us power to become the sons of God.
I’ve got the power! You’ve got the power! Jesus told us He wouldn’t leave us alone but would send the Holy Spirit. It was so that we could operate as Jesus did, telling others about the hope we have, the God we serve, the peace and joy He brings. It gives us power to be His witnesses.
Why would you live in squalor if you had millions in the bank? Don’t live defeated when the power for victory lives in you.
Father, I’m so grateful for Your Spirit that lives in me. You have plans to show Your power off through me if I only yield to You. So here I am, Yours for the day, the week, the month, the years I have left. Demonstrate Your power through me any way You want. May others be drawn to You through me. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
Isaiah 40:27-31 MSG
There are moments where I question God. I think if we’re being honest, all of us would say that at some point in time, we’ve honestly wondered if God blinked and missed something.
It’s clear that at the very least, He wasn’t listening. I wonder if Moses felt that way ever? Or perhaps David after being anointed king. I’m pretty sure Job wondered.
But these verses show a side of God we should never forget—He doesn’t come and go. He lasts. He never gets tired. He’s ever present. All knowing. He has a plan, and we’re part of it.
So when you’re trying to navigate through uncharted waters, wait on Him. Sit in His presence and don’t ask questions. Just hold His hand and let Him pour His strength into you. Then pick up your oar and keep moving until you get to where He needs you to be.
Remember when you committed your life to him? It was a total surrender. No take-backs. Stop questioning your position and ask Him for your purpose.
