Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said:
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
The God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation,
My stronghold and my refuge;
My Savior, You save me from violence.
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.” 1 Samuel 22:1-4
The definition of trust is; Reliance on the integrity, Strength, Ability, Surety, etc, of a person or thing, Confidence.
What are you trusting in? Who are you trusting in? If it’s in your job, that can easily go away. If it’s in your money, that can quickly be gone. If it’s in your spouse, parents or friends, they could easily be taken. But the only thing that never fails, but always remains, is God and God alone.
When you trust in Him and His ability to work all things out, not so you can have what you want, but that the most will benefit from what is in you, than your confidence is in the right place.
We live in a very selfish world, but the God in us is always about others. Let’s trust in Him and let Him work everything else out for us. We’re His children, and He loves to care for us. Keep your eyes on Him and His Word. Everything else will take care of itself.
