Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
Isaiah 40:27-31 MSG
There are moments where I question God. I think if we’re being honest, all of us would say that at some point in time, we’ve honestly wondered if God blinked and missed something.
It’s clear that at the very least, He wasn’t listening. I wonder if Moses felt that way ever? Or perhaps David after being anointed king. I’m pretty sure Job wondered.
But these verses show a side of God we should never forget—He doesn’t come and go. He lasts. He never gets tired. He’s ever present. All knowing. He has a plan, and we’re part of it.
So when you’re trying to navigate through uncharted waters, wait on Him. Sit in His presence and don’t ask questions. Just hold His hand and let Him pour His strength into you. Then pick up your oar and keep moving until you get to where He needs you to be.
Remember when you committed your life to him? It was a total surrender. No take-backs. Stop questioning your position and ask Him for your purpose.
