I will stand at my guard post. I will station myself on the wall. I will watch to see what he will say to me and what answer I will get to my complaint. Then the Lord answered me, “Write the vision. Make it clear on tablets so that anyone can read it quickly. The vision will still happen at the appointed time. It hurries toward its goal. It won’t be a lie. If it’s delayed, wait for it. It will certainly happen. It won’t be late.” Habakkuk 2:1-3 GWT
Each part of this spoke to me this morning. First was a call to stand at your guard post. Well, this is my post. Each morning, I come before the Lord, and we talk, me to Him, Him to me. I wait before the Lord because He always has something to say to me.
The second part was that when He speaks, write it down so you can go back and read it. Sometimes it’s not for now, but for an appointed time or season. Sometimes, it’s for someone else and not for me at all.
And third was that God says it will certainly happen. It won’t be late, but it may be delayed. The why is not important, but be assured that it will happen.
What has God spoken to you that you knew was for you? Just because you haven’t seen it yet, don’t give up on the promises of God. He’s never wrong, and He’s never late! Remember this: God doesn’t wear a watch. I’m pretty sure that would make Him us and not the Great I Am. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!
