I am aware of you. I sense you standing near, hovering, waiting for an invitation to participate with me in my daily stuff, my mundane routine. A mere glance your way and you rush in like a sudden breeze on a warm muggy day. How do you do that? You blow away all doubt and insecurity with your grand entrance. Your excitement is contagious. I suddenly feeling like a child again. Want to play a game? You’re it! Ha! But I can’t run fast enough to escape your touch. I can’t jump high enough enough to avoid you. You’re everywhere yet here you are.
You invite me to live life free. No worries, no responsibility, no debt, no pain, no anguish, only the peace of your presence and the stillness of your grace. I’m sitting here with a huge smile on my face, a silly grin really. I feel as light as a feather, as high as a kite, floating above the ground just watching. Nothing can touch me here. Nothing can spoil my view. One moment I was sitting here at my desk, the next I’m on my Fathers shoulders, riding the clouds, listening to the wind. All I hear is laughter. Thousands of children laughing, running, playing. I love that sound, don’t you? (Matthew 19:14) Perhaps that’s why you let me hear it because there is nothing like the sound of children laughing to lighten your spirit and make you smile.
My heart is stilled by the thought of how much you love me. I’ve been loved, but not like this. It’s like you’ve opened up my heart and expanded it’s capacity to give and receive love. It’s the key that opens the gates of your Kingdom. Love. Not our puny selfish love, but your pure and simple love. I John 3:1 says; What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to.
Could it really be that simple? We search for the key to unlock the great mysteries of God and it’s simply LOVE? You said that we must love like you love. Was that how Jesus did so many miracles? Is that where His power came from? I John 4:8 says, He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. If you are Love and we invite you to live in us, we are also love. You will recognize us when you return to get us because you will find Love in each of us, that’s how you’ll find your bride, your remnant on the earth. Love. Little pieces of Love on the earth, invading the dark places, covering sin, finding the lost, lifting hopelessness, setting free the captives. This world has not yet seen that kind of LOVE. Please, oh please, pretty please with sugar on top, PICK ME!
